There are several grand hotels on the Rue de Rivoli, which is one of the main thoroughfares on the Right Bank. There is something very regal about this street, despite being overrun with tourists. It's the location. The Hotel Brighton is directly across from the Jardin des Tuileries.

Designed by royal gardener to Louis XIV, Andre Le Notre, the gardens were laid out in 1664 and are still full of romance. The Musee du Louvre is also very accessible. If that is important to you, the short walk back to your hotel after being on your feet for hours, is a blessing.
The rooms with glorious views of the gardens and environs are the most coveted, but there are also quiet rooms over the courtyard. Expect good service for prices below some of the other Rue de Rivoli hotels, and enjoy the proximity to many Paris attractions.
